It's All Coming Together....

Hello All-

Today I wanted to touch base again on more of what my mission is. My goal is to create a resource guide for all kinds of alternative, healthy lifestyle, holistic lifestyle, Eco- Green choices available or Arts and Music, Education, History postings, Wellness for Body, Mind and Spirit, Meditation, Yoga and even classified listings for anything that falls within our categories.

When you break down what each section entails, it is a lot to learn. And learning is what I hope to be able to provide you with via my articles. We have doctors interested in submitting articles. We have alternative health care providers wanting to join in this venture. We have you the public who want to participate and we welcome that. Send in your thoughts or ideas for publication. We want to hear from you.

Let's take a look at Meditation today. What is it? How do you do it? Why would you want to try this? What are the benefits of it? Where did it begin? Is it proven to be effective? All questions worth an answer. This is what we will be exploring in Sacandaga Sun, Holistic Resource Guide.

Meditation: Many people consider meditation as a form of prayer or worship. However, it is not that exactly. It is more like you allow yourself to become "aware" of a particular way of focus. Some examples of this are, listening to your own breath, in and out, in and out, in a repetitive manner. Listen to yourself; focus. Imagine inhaling positivity and exhaling all negativity that you have come across during your day/week. Let it go. 


Any state of mind you create where you specifically focus in on, whether dreaming of walking on a beach under the warm sun and a sandy beach and actually imagining the warmth of the sun or feel of the sand on your feet for several minutes is meditating. It is that easy to do. As long as you have no other outside distractions and can concentrate on your "vision" or "exercise" through breathing...you will have mastered the beginning of true meditation. Try it. It is proven to be healthy for your mind, body and spirit.
